Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)

At Branches Grand Rapids, we offer Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for children, adolescents and adults that are suited for people who are experiencing behavioral health symptoms which can’t be treated in a traditional outpatient setting – but not severe enough to require inpatient or residential treatment.

PHP level of care serves as an important part of the continuum of care and can be a step down from inpatient care or an alternative to inpatient treatment at times. PHP is a structured, daytime, intensive course of treatment tailored to the specific needs of each patient – that still allows the patient to return home in the evenings.

PHP currently operates Monday through Friday 9 am – 3:30 pm
Average length of treatment is 1-2 weeks. Lunch is available daily.

Group-based programming focuses on development of positive coping skills, addressing psychosocial concerns, learning communication skills, stress management skills and how to manage acute crisis. In addition to group therapies, each patient meets individually with a psychiatrist for possible medication management. sets  treatment goals and develops an aftercare planning.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

At Branches Grand Rapid, we offer Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents. The goal of our IOPs are stabilization, supportive increased therapy and the development of positive skills. Our Intensive Outpatient Programs can bridge the gap between acute care and individual therapy, be an alternative for inpatient treatment or serve as a step-down from residential or acute mental health treatment.

IOP currently operates Monday through Friday 9 am-12 pm
Patients attend this IOP program 3-5 days per week for several hours.

IOP is a structured, group-focused, intensive course of therapy and the average average length of stay is 2-4 weeks. Group-based therapy focuses on coping skills, communication skills, stress management skills and healthy relationship skills. In addition to group therapies, each patient meets individually with a clinician to set treatment goals and develop an aftercare plan.
